Licensing

How do I purchase a font?

  1. Choose your font

  2. Choose the license that fits your business size and intended usage

  3. Checkout. Voila!

If you have grand plans or you're doing something a little out of the ordinary, simply inquire for a custom quote.

All businesses with 10+ employees must inquire for a custom quote.

Which license do I need?

There are two basic types of licenses: desktop and web.

Desktop

A desktop license provides you with an OTF file that you can install on your computer and use in programs like Adobe, Canva, and other design software.

Your license is based on the overall size of your company — not the number of users who install the font.

Web

A web license provides you with a WOFF file for embedding on your website. This file type is what allows your website's code to load and display the typeface properly. An OTF file is not suitable for live web embedding.

Your web license is based on your website's monthly visitors.

Up to 10,000 visitors / month
Standard Web License

Extended Web License

If you're just using the font in a PNG, JPG, or other static image on your website, you don't need a web license.

For businesses with fewer than 10 employees, your desktop license covers the everyday stuff:

  • Print collateral

  • Social media

  • Digital marketing

  • Static website graphics

  • Canva

  • Adobe and other design programs

For businesses with 10+ employees, please inquire for a custom license for all use cases.

What requires an additional license?

A few uses need their own license because the font is becoming part of something you're selling, distributing, or embedding.

Logo / brand mark use

Logo and brand mark use is available as an optional add-on to your desktop license.

You can add it during checkout.

Other uses

The following uses require an inquiry for additional licensing:

  • Packaging

  • Products or merchandise for sale

  • Clothing that is printed or embroidered with the font

  • Apps or software

  • Editorial projects / books / album artwork

  • Other uses where the font itself is being embedded or distributed

If you're not sure whether your project falls into one of these categories, just ask. Tell us what you're making and we'll point you in the right direction.

Can I use the font for my logo?

Yes! Logo and brand mark licensing can be added during checkout. Just select the logo / brand mark option when purchasing your font.

If your company has 10+ employees, get in touch and we'll help you figure out the right license.

Can my designer use the font?

If you hire a designer or agency, they can use your licensed font while working on your project. However, the license belongs to the company or individual named at checkout — not the designer or agency. The designer or agency may not use the font files for their own work or for other clients without a separate license.

Do you offer trial fonts?

Not currently. You can use the type tester on each font's page to type in your own words and get a feel for how the font looks before you buy it.

What characters are included?

Our fonts include the standard English character set, along with most European and Spanish characters.

The easiest way to check is to use the type tester on the font's page and try the characters you need.
